Let’s think about your key employee/partners in addition to ourselves when evaluating our success.
INC magazine (web & print) is filled with advice, stories, parables and lists all geared to make you a better leader, entrepreneur, employee, and investor. The journey is difficult for everyone regardless of whether this is your first rodeo or the fourth trip to the entrepreneurs’ dance. Need help getting through your own fear? What is the best look for a leader? These well crafted thought pieces intend on helping you get to the promised land.
Let’s assume for a second that your company is going to be wildly successful and riches will reign on you like confetti at a New Year’s Eve party. Congratulations, you pulled it off!
My question, “How will you judge your success?”
Most of the time we judge ourselves on financial value. The bigger the number the more successful we were (at least we tell ourselves that). Certainly the media loves this metric. I would imagine that a $20 million dollar acquisition should feel the same as the $200 million dollar version. Did you work 10x harder for the larger acquisition?
