The One Thing – Tanya Hamilton

Why is launching a business so hard?

Tanya Hamilton is a force of nature.  I was introduced to her over the phone and 3 days later she drove from Charlotte (3 hours) just to see what Durham (and me) were about. She is the Executive Director and Founder of Independent Youth who’s mission is to build great teenage entrepreneurs. Wow! Two of her kids have been on Shark Tank and another on Ellen Degeneres. I spent a weekend with all 17 of them a few weeks back at a bowling alley and then as part of an event with over 1,000 high school kids.

Her organization is growing (can we get you to Durham?) so I asked her – How does one launch a successful company?
