One Trait EVERY Startup CEO Has

Being a startup CEO requires lots of skills – many of which are new to you. As you add and subtract these skills (some fit you well, some not so much), I keep thinking if there is one massively common trait or skill that every CEO shares.

An insightful meeting down in Wilmington with a promising healthcare company opened the door for me. This story is about a reluctant CEO who found herself as the CEO almost by accident.

The one thing that every CEO shares – you step up to the plate when no one else can or will.

Look at your team. Does your CEO step up?

Speaker, investor, mentor, startup founder. One of 3 or 4 Co-Founders of MapQuest (sold to AOL for $1.2B). Managing Director of $25M Venture Fund in late 90's.
